Aren’t sure what to expect from a brand ambassador? After you hire brand ambassadors, engage them with exciting challenges and campaigns to boost brand awareness and drive traffic. If you’re looking for fresh, creative ideas, read on for the top eight activities you can ask your creators to do — with brand ambassador examples to check out.

1. Try a branded hashtag challenge

Branded hashtag challenges help you gain exposure across social media channels.

The key is to create a unique, catchy hashtag with your team and ask ambassadors to participate. Need an example?

Slovakian YouTube influencer David Dobrik got in on Chipotle’s massively successful #ChipotleLidFlip challenge — along with his 26.2 million followers — encouraging consumers to order takeout from the eatery.

It’s a fun, non-salesy way to engage customers and drive sales.

2. Give ambassadors discount codes to share

Everyone loves feeling like they got a good deal. Ask a brand ambassador to share a unique discount code with their social media followers to give sales a boost.

If the creators in your brand ambassador program are part of your affiliate marketing program, they’ll earn a commission on every sale they generate. It’s a win-win.

Jenni Farley, better known to Jersey Shore fans as “JWoww,” is a health and fitness junkie who shares discount codes with her followers for her favorite nutritional shakes

3. Ask ambassadors to share company posts

When an influencer shares your brand’s latest blog post, content or product on their social media accounts, they expose your brand to their community of followers.

Sharing a post or two is easy for ambassadors, so it’s a low-effort task with a high reward. Plus, the influencer’s consistent support of your brand is a great way to drive awareness.

This can be done via reshares on Instagram Stories, tweets, or reaction videos on TikTok or Instagram Reels.

4. Get ambassadors to show your latest products

Send ambassadors your latest products and ask them to share a picture, write a review, or shoot a video of it in use.

For example, fitness influencer Analis Cruz showed off a new workout outfit from GymShark in a recent YouTube post.

Any time your brand is about to release a new product, you can get your ambassadors involved. If you have a small team of ambassadors, organize a conference call to update everyone, and have them watch their mail for new products to promote.

Many brand ambassadors film unboxing videos of the packages they open, as well as reviews.

5. Inquire about their ideas for a fresh perspective

Brand ambassadors are a great resource for innovative ideas. If they follow your brand, they’re already familiar with what you do and likely have valuable insight.

From blog posts and tutorials to unboxing clips and “shop with me” videos, getting their feedback can spice up your company’s content.

Influencer Dez Hopkins got creative recently by sampling Lay’s Flavor Swap chips and matched them with colorful makeup looks. Lay’s repurposed the content and shared the post with their TikTok followers. These are the kinds of ideas ambassadors can inspire.

6. Ask ambassadors to help with product reviews

If you’re looking to generate product reviews, consider asking your brand ambassadors for some help. Ask ambassadors to give away a certain number of free products in exchange for a product review.

The ambassador can turn the giveaway into a few fun posts and follow up with those who receive the products on your behalf.

7. Ask for an unboxing video

Since 2010, the number of videos on YouTube with the word “unboxing” has gone up 871%. There’s just something about unboxing videos. Followers can’t seem to get enough of them.

People love to see a new product taken from its festive packaging and revealed live. An ambassador can even try out the product and give a quick review.

London-based fashion influencer Sophie Way’s unboxing video is a great example. She shares her double designer bag unboxing with her TikTok followers.

8. Connect with your audience through tutorials

Make your product more accessible to viewers by asking ambassadors to create user-friendly tutorials. These videos are often filled with advice or steps on how to use something and are particularly helpful for brands that sell beauty products, tech or software.

Your potential customers can see the product in action and understand how to use it in their daily routines. Here’s an example of beauty influencer Shauna Clarke explaining how to use an organic oil hair mask

Now that you’re armed with engaging, results-driven activities, it’s time to implement your plan. Hire brand ambassadors and watch the buzz around your brand build on social.
