It’s time to start thinking about your back-to-school influencer campaign ideas. It might not be Christmas or Halloween, but there’s plenty of shopping going on during this time. The average household spent $864 in 2022 on school necessities, according to the National Retail Federation.

If your brand wants to capitalize on the back-to-school blitz, working with an influencer can help your promotions feel more authentic.

If you’re looking for influencers in the education niche, get started by checking out these lists of content creators:

Our list of ideas for back-to-school influencer marketing campaigns:

DIY school supply hack

Partner with a craft or DIY influencer or teacher to create fun and creative school supply hacks using the brand’s products. Encourage creators to include step-by-step instructions so their followers can recreate these hacks at home.

Offer a back-to-school deal

Offer a back-to-school discount on a product or service. Ask an influencer to wear your apparel, show a makeup tutorial for a new look, or do a GRWM (get ready with me) video on the first day of school.

Think about parents, too, many of whom are looking forward to a quiet house once the kids go back to school. A salon could offer discounted mani/pedi packages for mom, a cleaning company could offer a back-school package, and a book publisher could give away a bundle of books that mom or dad can read now that they have a little quiet time. Partner with an influencer to promote these parent-focused back-to-school ideas.

Student organization challenge

Partner with an organization, cleaning, student or parent influencer to share their best tips for staying organized for back to school. This could be an ASMR-style restocking or organization video showcasing your products.

Encourage creators to showcase how they use planners, calendars, and other tools to manage their schedules, supplies and assignments.

Help parents out

Can your products help parents out in any way? If so, use that angle to promote your products. Give parents ideas for nutritional lunches, quick snacks and after-school activities.

Rather than your company advertising directly to parents, collaborate with an influencer who can offer their experience with your product or service.

Ready for some influencer campaign examples? Share an easy lunch recipe or quick breakfast for busy moms. In this IZEA campaign, a mom shared her go-to breakfast for busy Monday mornings.

Create content to aid teachers

During the summer, teachers get a break, but they spend a fair amount of time prepping for the next year. How can your company help them? A brand that sells learning activities, classroom furniture, books, or school supplies can collaborate with influencers to create content that inspires teachers.

Influencers can offer new ways to set up a classroom, unique lesson plans, tips on behavior charts, or suggest tools to add to learning centers. As an influencer makes these suggestions, he or she can subtly promote one or two of your own products, too.

Or, consider hosting an event like a conference or a professional development seminar. Ask a handful of different education influencers to participate and then ask speakers to promote the event on their channels, too. For instance, an education influencer on Facebook promoted The Educator Summit, where she’s speaking.

Support a local school

Your company could adopt a local school and coordinate fundraisers or events that help its students. For instance, your business could “stuff the bus” with school supplies. A restaurant in Linden, New Jersey, held such an event for a local school.

For an event like this, your company could team up with local influencers to help drive participation. Ask local influencers to share the event on social or shoot videos as they shop for school supplies to donate. You could even ask influencers to be on-site and emcee the event.

Is there a more specific way your company can help a school? For example, a physiotherapy company partnered with a local school to serve as a health and wellness resource for the rugby team. In this case, the influencer is the employee helping the team. He can promote the partnership, share snaps of workout routines, and engage the team’s followers (and possible customers) with healthy tips.

Working with an influencer is a great way to engage a new audience and promote your product in an authentic way. If you’re ready to brainstorm influencer campaign ideas or discover influencers to work with, chat with our team of experts.
