Ask influencers to introduce a challenge

Think of a brand-related challenge to engage your customers. For example, create a “one-of-a-kind” contest where participants are challenged to come up with the most creative and innovative use for the brand’s product or service. This challenge could be promoted through an influencer, social media, email marketing, and a dedicated landing page on the brand’s website.

Once you set the challenge, create participation guidelines and a branded hashtag. Repost social media users’ entries and host a poll to vote on the winner.

Consider planning a must-attend event. Be sure that the event is brand-focused, of course, but turn your attention to relationship building and brand awareness more so than sales. Try to include a hands-on event, something active that customers can do. Invite influencers you have worked with or your team of brand ambassadors.

Need a few influencer event ideas? IZEA teamed up with TECNO, a global smartphone manufacturer, to show how the TECNO CAMON 19 Pro Mondrian phone is a work of art and new smartphone standard. Its design was inspired by the artist Piet Mondrian in honor of the 150th anniversary of his birth.

To do this, IZEA worked with tech and lifestyle influencers to help position the product as a modern piece of art. An immersive in-person experience at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, sought to connect TECNO’s smartphone with the significance of Mondrian’s art, educate reporters and creators about the company, and showcase the phone’s unique design and features.

Give influencers a product to try

Influencer activation often focuses on a specific product. Some campaigns are as simple as asking a creator to showcase your product in a picture or video. 

You’ll provide campaign guidance once you’ve identified influencers to work with. Explain the campaign’s goal, content type, deadlines, and review process. Creators showed how easy it is to pick up their favorite flavors in stores and use the f’real machines to DIY their milkshakes. 

Creator Angelica Pham took her 1.1M followers along as she visited a f’real machine to try the trending f’real milkshake she’s seen on social media. She vlogged picking her desired milkshake thickness and said she’d be back for more.
