One of the most amazing things about the internet is how easy it is for people to connect and get information. More and more people are receiving their news and connecting with one another online. The interwebs allows you to experience first hand situations that are a world away and brings an intimacy and immediacy to world events.
Unless you have been living under a rock the past few weeks, we are sure that you have heard about to devastating earthquake that has decimated large sections of Haiti. The recovery from this will be expensive and will continue for years. A lot of our users have asked us if there is a way that they can donate their IZEA earnings to the relief efforts and the answer is a resounding, YES!
Here is how to do it:
To Donate From SocialSpark
The SocialSpark platform already has set up several different Causes which you can favorite and donate to.
To find them, click the ‘browse causes’ link from the ‘community’ dropdown at the top right of SocialSpark
Then choose the cause to which you wish to donate. Much of the current Haiti relief efforts are being coordinated by the American Red Cross.
Click the title of the charity to bring up a details page about the organization.
There are a few different links on this page to allow you to donate. Clicking either of these will bring up a donation box showing you your current SocialSpark earnings. Donations in SocialSpark need to be a minimum of $5.00, so all you need to do is type in any amount from $5.00 up to your total earnings amount and submit. And that’s it! You have just made a huge difference in the life of another.
*On this page you can also use the ‘add to my causes’ link to enable individual post donations. This means that each time you submit a post, you will be given the option to donate the proceeds from that post to one of your causes.
To Donate From inPostLinks
inPostLinks also has a built-in donation system which you can access anytime you submit a post. After you have made a reservation in the system and are ready to submit your post, you will notice the last field contains a dropdown which allows you to donate your earnings. Simply choose the American Red Cross from the dropdown options and submit.
To Donate From PayPerPost or Sponzai
Although there is no functionality already built into these systems, you can still donate your earning from there. If you wish to donate from your earnings in PayPerPost or Sponzai follow these steps:
1. Check your earnings. This will be shown on the homepage of each of these sites.
2. Determine how much you wish to donate to the American Red Cross.
3. Send an email to charity@izea.com and let us know how much you would like to donate and which system you wish to donate from (Sponzai or PayPerPost).*
*Please note that you can only donate from your earnings and not your pending funds. Also, if you are sending an email from an address other than the one you use for your Sponzai or PayPerPost account, please include the email address that we should use to find your account.
To Donate From Sponsored Tweets
1. Check your balance. This will be shown at the top right of the site.
2. Determine how much you wish to donate to the American Red Cross.
3. Send an email to charity@izea.com and let us know how much you would like to donate and your Twitter handle.
