YouTube is one of the most accessible platforms, promoting creativity and originality. Some of the most well-known influencers in the world started their careers humbly by uploading videos to YouTube, and they continue to excel as public figures in the same way.

YouTube is also an important cornerstone of the creator economy. The average cost paid to influencers per post for YouTube videos in 2022 was $2,102, which ranked behind higher-cost platforms Twitch, Instagram Stories, and TikTok, according to our 2023 State of Influencer Earnings report.

This represents a great opportunity for marketers. While video platforms are among the highest-cost platforms for hiring influencers, YouTube trails the others in cost. Also, consider the value of a YouTube video. An effective influencer partnership can produce a high-value YouTube video that is much longer and has a longer shelf life than a simple Instagram Story or TikTok video.

YouTube is home to many audiences, from sports fans to artists to world travelers. Here are some of the most important YouTube influencer categories.
