What originally attracted you to the IZEA/SocialSpark community and how did you find out about it?
I heard about SocialSpark through another blogger, and I thought it sounded like a great way to connect with brands and get involved with sponsored posts. Although my blog is very personal to me, I’m always excited to work with brands that I know my readers will love to hear about, so I was excited to see what sorts of posts I might be offered!

Describe your blog in 140 characters or less…
Amuse Your Bouche is a light-hearted food blog focusing on simple (read: lazy!) vegetarian and vegan recipes that anyone can manage!

What inspires you to blog?
Food! I genuinely just love food, and whenever I come up with a recipe that I’m excited about, I can’t wait to share it. I also really love all the behind-the-scenes aspects of blogging: promoting posts, designing my site, even learning SEO!

Do you ever get stumped for what to write? How do you overcome this?

All the time! I try to jot down any ideas that come to me through the day so I don’t forget them. If I really can’t think of anything, I find it sometimes helps to literally just write whatever is in my mind – even if I’m 90% sure I won’t end up posting it, it sometimes sparks a better idea!

If you were Prime Minister for a day what would be your first order of business?
Um, how about giving enormous business grants to food bloggers?! Just kidding, there are much more important things to focus on, but I’m not sure what I could achieve in just one day!

What do you love about IZEA/SocialSpark?
It’s really user-friendly – it’s easy to view your leads, accept campaigns, and then cash out once you’re done!

What has been your favorite SocialSpark campaign?
I recently worked on a post with Sian’s Plan, a great online meal planning service. I tried out the plan for a few days, and really enjoyed the whole experience. As a food blogger, it’s not often I get to enjoy making other people’s recipes instead of coming up with my own!

How do you actively stay engaged with your audience?
I spend a lot of time each day responding to comments and emails, but the main way I connect with my readers is through my Facebook page. I have some really lovely, loyal readers who are always happy to join in discussions on Facebook – I feel like it’s easier to connect when you can have an easy two-way discussion.

What tips can you give other bloggers that can help set them apart and stand out?
Just keep swimming! Developing a successful blog is a marathon, not a sprint – you just need to continue working hard and putting in the effort that other people won’t. Eventually people will start to recognise your continued hard work.

Complete this thought: If I could, I would…
give up my part-time job to work on my blog every day of the week.

Congratulations to Becca! Don’t forget to check her out at Amuse Your Bouche!
