IZEA is participating in the Brighten The Day 5k on Saturday, October 27, 2012. Organizing the event is Therigy. The Central Florida company is the healthcare industry’s leading source of specialty pharmaceutical consulting, web products, and data analytics.

Proceeds from the 5k will be donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Oncology Care Fund. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society helps patients with blood cancers live better, longer lives. The Oncology Care Fund supports patients requiring the use of specialty therapeutics and care services. Its mission is to provide financial support for access to therapies and care support.

Why are you running?

Seven IZEAns will be running the 5k. We asked some of them why they were running. Here’s what they said.

“I am running in honor of the many friends and family members that I’ve had the privilege of knowing who are affected daily by cancer. Especially my cousin, Idalya, who is the bravest 3 year old I know currently fighting Leukemia.” – Jaimie Sprenkle

“I’m running for those that can’t.” – Kelsey Hendrickson

“Both of my grandmothers died of cancer and any support towards cancer research is a fantastic cause. Plus, I want to kickstart my motivation to get into better shape. What better way than a 5k?” – David Ulrich

“It provides me the opportunity to improve not only my quality of life, but also that of the patients who will benefit from the proceeds being donated to the Lukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Oncology Care Fund.” – Andy Hazelrigg
