IZEA, Inc. (OTCQB: IZEA), operator of the premier online marketplace that connects brands with influential content creators, announced today they have begun piloting sponsored streams via Twitter’s Periscope application. The program launch follows on the heels of IZEA’s first Periscope campaign, completed over Father’s Day weekend with a top multinational consumer packaged goods company.

“The rapid rise of Twitter’s Periscope app creates an opportunity for brands to engage with consumers through a unique experience that combines live video with a comment stream that isn’t found in other forms of Sponsored Social,” said IZEA Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Ted Murphy. “We are intrigued by the initial results of this program, and continue evaluating the viability of live streaming applications.”

The Sponsored Stream pilot program leverages key influencers in IZEA’s network to create live branded content on Periscope. By activating hundreds of Creators through IZEAx to drive awareness of the Sponsored Stream, the program reaches multiple channels with shares and organic amplification reaching across social networks.

IZEA continues to pioneer the sponsored social industry. The company created the first platform for sponsored blog posts, the first platform for sponsored tweets, the first platform for sponsored check-ins, and is now the first company to launch a sponsored stream program.
