IZEA is dedicated to transparency and ensuring the safety of our creator community. In 2022, we announced plans to accept cryptocurrency as a payment method for influencer marketing campaigns, giving creators the option to be paid in crypto for sponsored content. However, due to limited interest, we discontinued this program.

Currently, IZEA does not support cryptocurrency payments to or from any creators or brands.

Watch out for scams

Scams from perpetrators falsely claiming to be associated with IZEA have recently targeted creators and social media users. These scams claim to either demand payment in cryptocurrency to participate in a social media campaign or offer to pay in cryptocurrency while also requesting sensitive personal information. Please be aware:

  • IZEA does not pay creators in cryptocurrency.
  • IZEA will never charge creators to participate in a social media campaign.
  • Any message or offer stating otherwise is fraud.

Tips to stay safe

To protect yourself from scams, follow these guidelines:

Verify communication sources: Always ensure that messages claiming to be from IZEA come from our official channels:

Protect your personal information: Never share sensitive details such as wallet addresses, passwords, or financial information with anyone claiming to be IZEA. Official IZEA campaigns follow secure and transparent processes.

Where to report potential scams

These scams have been occurring for several years. We published a blog post in 2022 to warn about this behavior. If you feel that you are a victim of a scam, there are actions you can take.

If you have suffered financial losses, the best thing you can do is report it to your local authorities. They will work with you to create a report of the fraud. If you have been contacted on WhatsApp or Telegram, you can use these links to report the fraud:

If they sent you to a particular website claiming to be owned by IZEA, please share this website with us at support@izea.com. We will do our best to have the site taken down for trademark infringement.
