New York, concrete jungle where dreams are made of. There’s nothing you can’t do. Now you’re in New York, these streets will make you feel brand new, big lights will inspire you. Let’s hear it for New York.

Thanks for the inspiration Alicia Keys! I had the pleasure of heading to New York this past weekend to represent IZEA at Blogging While Brown. Since its launch in 2008, Blogging While Brown has grown to become the premier blogging conference dedicated to education, collaboration, and innovation among bloggers of  color. The conference brings Black social media experts, speakers and independent content creators together to educate, inspire and expand their influence in social media and technology. This dynamic conference was hosted at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in Harlem. The space was beautiful and we could not be more excited to have been sponsors!

We arrived on Friday and could not wait to meet everyone! That’s me and Courtney in the photo :). We were right next to the registration area so we capitalized by saying hello, waving and generally flagging down every blogger we could. There were so many awesome creators here. We met film festival organizers, relationship/love bloggers, political podcasters, super stylish fashion bloggers, business bloggers…the list goes on. Whether blogging for years or just getting going, everyone was full of positive energy. It was a great atmosphere to be a part of!

Aside from attending the conference, we also had the opportunity to go to some of the conference parties. These were held at the Aloft Hotel and were beautifully put together. Enjoying everyone in a more casual setting was really nice. And, the best carrot cupcakes to ever be baked were also in attendance!

Thanks for having us Blogging While Brown! It was fantastic to meet everyone and we can’t wait for next year!
