At IZEA, we like to think of our sales team as solutions providers. Our team is able to pinpoint a brand’s needs and provide a tailored solution to effectively address those needs. However, the sales field is not for the faint-hearted – all team members have to be on their A-game, staying persistent and detail-oriented at all times. Fortunately, our sales team is made up of a solid fortress of individuals willing to put in the extra effort to achieve each client’s goals, one of which being our lovely Account Director for the Northeast, Amelia Guldi.
She’s Got the Angles
Amelia has been part of the team for almost two years. The great thing about her is that she understands the company from a multitude of angles. She actually started at IZEA as an Influencer Ecosystem and Account Management intern. Right before graduating from UCF with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising and Public Relations, she was offered a full-time role as an Account Manager for the West Coast team.
Recently, Amelia moved into her current sales role as an Account Director. “She’s a very creative, detail-oriented and accountable individual, which are excellent traits for good sales people,” notes Luis Abreu, Account Director. Kristen Parody, Account Management, adds, “Amelia’s account management background is a great asset to her as she has transitioned into sales. She knows what questions to ask of advertisers and comes back with a bunch of ideas to get the proposals off the ground.”
Before IZEA, Amelia was a PR Intern at YPartnership (currently MMGY). Before that, she worked double-time – serving as a digital marketing intern at Moving Interactive and managing Amway Center’s social accounts and events. One of her favorite past experiences was working the Taylor Swift concert at the Amway Center because she had the chance to actually meet Taylor. Lucky girl!
She’s a Go-Getter
Amelia loves being an Account Director because she enjoys getting creative, whether it’s brainstorming with her colleagues or shooting ideas back and forth with a client. She feels rewarded when she can watch a small idea grow into a widely successful campaign.
“Amelia has always been a go-getter since I met her when starting at IZEA,” says Eryn Ivey, Account Director. “From kickin’ butt in Account Management in an efficient and creative manner to digging to find new contacts and brands in Sales, Amelia is a role model that I certainly aim to be. PS – can we talk about her fashion sense?!”
Personally Invested
Ask anyone at IZEA why they love working here and their answer will most likely be the culture/people. Although Amelia agrees that the culture plays a part in her happiness here, she also loves Ted Murphy’s leadership example: “What makes my day is that Ted knows us all by name. He has a personal investment in the growth of us as individuals and as a company.”
Fun Facts
- Amelia is a grammar freak. Don’t even think about texting “ur” to her – she’ll die a little inside.
- She recently lost her title as youngest full-time IZEAn…she’s still a little resentful.
- She’s a vegetarian.
- She’s the youngest of six and an aunt to nine. In order to stand out in a family that size, she took up dancing for about 16 years.
- She was voted biggest rebel in her sorority, a title she is very proud of.
- Don’t even get her started on Taylor Swift – obsessed is an understatement. She’s been lucky enough to meet her twice.
- She’s going on her 8th season of WAKA kickball. In her first season, she lost two teeth and needed stitches, which resulted in a Harry Potter-esque scar on her chin. Yep, she’s the “Girl Who Lived”! (only Harry Potter nerds will get that one)
Pro Recommendations:
Amelia believes the secret to every job is relationship building and management. However, she has some tips specifically for college students and young job seekers:
- INTERN, INTERN, INTERN. You will not regret it.
- Stay busy. If you feel like you don’t have enough work, you need to ask for it. Someone in the company needs your help and it’s your job to lend your hand. Plus, you will earn so much respect and maybe even learn something new.
- Start a blog. It will do 3 things for you: (1.) It’s a live feed of writing samples. (2.) It shows you’re creative and have passion. (3.) It demonstrates that you’re socially savvy.
Fabulous advice from a fabulous lady! We’re proud to call you an IZEAn, Amelia!
