We not only care about our clients, creators and team members in making sure that campaigns go off without a hitch, we also care about the communities that we call home. In fact, a group of our team members dedicate additional time to make these community efforts a priority. We have broken down our charitable efforts into 4 pillars which coincide with the fiscal quarters.
For the 2014 holiday season IZEAns worked together and collected over 250 toys for a local charity, Baby DJ, which helps to ensure there are gifts under the tree for underprivileged families throughout Central Florida. In addition to our toy drive, we were able to collect over 500 food items for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.
This past spring we held one of the most competitive fundraisers that IZEA has ever seen. It involved not only our team here in our Winter Park headquarters but also our Chicago Office. Remember penny wars from Middle School? Well we brought that to the work place and we have never seen people hustle so much for coin. This initiative supported the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando and the Chicago-based organization, Anti-Cruelty Society. We were able to light the competitive spirit of our team to raise over $600 in coins! With this came another layer to our #IZEACares efforts. We challenged our teams to not just raise money but raise awareness by giving each team a shelter dog to sponsor and spread the word about via their own social media channels. Adding this second layer of social sharing has made this one of our most successful charitable initiatives to date. And it also shed light on the many animals awaiting adoption in our area.
Our most recent effort just wrapped up! We collected school supplies here in our headquarters in Winter Park. It was a smashing success and we were able to arm students of Central Florida with tons of school supplies! We partnered with the local organization Families in Transition which helps to combat the epidemic of homeless youth in the community. It is an incredible organization doing amazing work and we are so happy we were able to help as the school year kicked off!
IZEA’s dedication to support the community is a year round commitment and we couldn’t be more excited about it. With the 4th quarter on the horizon we are seeking out opportunities to get our team away from their desks and out in the community. We are igniting our philanthropic spirit and cannot wait to see what we can do when we work together to Champion The Community.
