If you missed National Banana Split Day on August 25th, we wouldn’t blame you if you still found an excuse to celebrate. Banana splits are delicious every day of the year!
Here at IZEA, we celebrated with an ice cream truck, a Build Your Own Banana Split Bar and our ever-present love for bananas. Bananas hold a special place in the IZEA culture. Once upon a time, you could find the mention of people dressed in banana suits on our corporate site… and in our office. These days, our banana-rama is confined to company cruises, Halloween, quarterly events and maybe a portrait or two.
But how does a company end up with a love for bananas? We dug deeper and asked the man himself, Ted Murphy, “what’s up with the bananas?”
“Bananas started invading the office a few years back with a few team members using bananas as imaginary phones. Since then they have been randomly spotted over the years. Personally I think there is some sort of Planet of the Apes connection.” said Murphy.
So there you have it, folks! We’re ground zero for influencer and content marketing and possibly an ape uprising.
