I’m happy to feature “The Painting Activist,” Ashley Cecil, as the October “Blogger with a Cause.” I can’t specifically recall how I became familiar with Ashley’s site, and while it’s not necessarily the most attention-grabbing blog in terms of aesthetics, the content–along with the cause–is what really captured my interest. Come to think of it, anything other than a relatively plain design would take away from what Ashley’s cause is. Stick with me and you’ll see what I mean.
Ashley is a painter and a social activist, and her blog is the crossroads where the two meet. Simply put, she paints about social causes and issues, hoping to bring about change utilizing her talent. The really awesome thing: a portion of the proceeds from all sales goes to the corresponding piece.
If you visit Ashley’s site here’s a sampling of what you can find:

Awesome blog, Ashley! Keep up the great work.
