We all remember back to school — crisp paper, new outfit, fresh pencil minus the eraser smudges. There is something beautiful and freeing about a new school year. It is the beginning of new lessons, adventures, and friends. This year IZEACares wanted to play a part in that fresh start by giving back to local schools in the Chicago and Orlando areas.

We challenged the company to send in their favorite school supplies so we could create 50 backpacks for kids in need per market and champion our local communities. We are pleased to announce this has been our largest fundraiser to date creating over 50 backpacks with over $2500 in supplies and funds donated.

Our Chicago team created backpacks in partnership with Operation Backpack, an organization that has an annual drive through the summer months collects school supplies and backpacks for children in foster care as well as children of Veteran’s served by Volunteers of IL.

Our HQ office in Winter Park, FL chose two local schools in need to drop off 50 backpacks along with additional supplies for local elementary school classrooms. Over a three-week period, the team gathered supplies and in early August, the Orlando team filled 50 backpacks using supply lists from local schools.  We are so thankful that both offices across the nation banded together with their friends and family to make this our most successful drive yet to allow us to truly champion our communities.
