Winter Park-based advertising firm IZEA, Inc., which specializes in sponsored social media, has acquired Los Angeles-based creative marketplace Ebyline for $8.85 million in a stock and cash purchase.
IZEA, which just opened new offices in Winter Park, has traditionally focused on lining up paid tweets and blog posts for brands, usually from celebrities and other social media stars.

Ted Murphy, CEO of IZEA, said the acquistion broadens IZEA’s reach in the $44 billion content marketing industry.
“We can now partner with our brand clients to generate content for their own blogs, social posts and native advertising campaigns. In addition, this acquisition opens up partnership opportunities with Ebyline’s existing publishing and media partners to join the IZEA Exchange and monetize their social feeds,” Murphy said in a news release.
