It’s been a little over two weeks since we survived the Truckpocalypse. The third installment of the Trucks & Tech series was a huge success. Over 1000 people/zombies from the Central Florida foodie and techie communities descended upon Lake Eola once again to partake in an evening of food truck treats and technology discussion, this time with a zombie theme. If you couldn’t tell, we’re a fan of themes over here (remember Trucktoberfest?).
It was a dreary day, which perfectly fit into our theme, and thankfully the skies stayed dry for all of our zombies and survivors. The day started out as they all do. Our vendors arrived, one by one, to set up for the night’s festivities.
At 6 pm people/zombies began to arrive in hordes. Our lovely table sponsors – Envy Labs, Spay n’ Save Animal Clinic, Yelp Orlando and HostDime – were there to talk with guests and share some awesome swag. Meanwhile, our friends at Ad 2 Orlando kept the Shipyard brews flowing all night.
Speaking sessions began at 7 pm and featured leading minds in the local tech community weighing in on topics from the age old iOS v. Android debate to growth hacking.
The night drew to a close with an epic zombie v. survivor costume contest, where two contestants won some great Lenovo goodies.
