@nnanasfo I waited for this. My positivity, my outlook, my ability to laugh, joke around, was all I had to hang on to for the longest time. Otherwise, I probably would’ve given up down the road. My riding journey has not been easy by any means. I’ve been rocked around in this sport. The reason why I don’t jump higher than a lot of people my age is because in the past, I didn’t have the opportunities to move up. I didn’t have nice horses, couldn’t show on the rated circuit due to money, and my growth got severely stunted. For most of my early followers, you know a lot about my riding journey, but for those who don’t, for over 2 years I had a severe confidence knock in this sport. Although I didn’t realize it at the time, the confidence knock came from a collusion of things; harsh training and words, too much self doubt, fear, anxiety, etc. It got so bad to the point where I couldn’t even canter without blanking out in fear. But through all those times, I truly have to pat young me on the back. Because through all these intense experiences (many that are too intense to even cover), I stuck it through. I never limited myself. Even though I didn’t have the tangible, material prosperity to help me get through this sport, I never lost my ability to dream. Dream of a day that I would be confident. Dream of a day that I would have a beautiful horse that could pack me into the high level jumpers. Dream of a day where I would have a beautiful, supportive barn family, and ride at a place where I didn’t feel anxiety or stress, but instead love and happiness. Now, this dream’s real. I am so grateful for what I endured in this sport. Those hardships make me appreciate the beauty I have in this sport now. I never gave up heart. And that’s why I truly believe I made it to where I am today. I was willing to wait for it. Your journey is not linear. Do not give up. Wait for it. Your time will come. You will bloom, but the change starts within you first. Change your internal mindset, and your external world will exude what’s inside. Circumstances change. Heart is forever. #horse
