IZEACares continues to support our community through partnering with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida this month.
Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida
Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida is a private, nonprofit organization that collects, stores and distributes food donations across Central Florida. With the support of volunteers, donors and the community, the organization was able to distribute 52 million meals last year alone! They have a tremendous impact on our community, and IZEA was grateful to have the opportunity to spend time supporting Second Harvest.

IZEAns contributed 32 volunteer hours that were spent sorting and packaging food donations for Central Florida families. In that time, through the combined efforts of IZEAns and other volunteers, over 20,314 pounds of food was sorted which created 16,928 meals!

Spread the Word
As much as 1 in 6 Central Floridians are struggling with hunger. Raising awareness of this issue will help aid Second Harvest in their vision to inspire and engage our community to end hunger. Stay connected with the organization through social media like Facebook and share their upcoming events on your own social channels. Use the hashtag #feedhopenow when sharing.
Volunteer
Second Harvest’s efforts wouldn’t be possible without the support of the local community. Last year over 34,370 volunteers spent over 107,000+ hours at the Food Bank. Second Harvest welcomes individuals in addition to groups. Sign up online to volunteer!
Donate
There’s countless ways to donate to Second Harvest! As little as $10 can provide 40 meals to those in need! Monetary donations are accepted online directly. Donating to Second Harvest online helps your dollar go further. With a $10 donation, the organization can provide up to $90 worth of food value. If you’re interested in making a food donation, Second Harvest has a donation list online.
