Simon T. Bailey is a people person.  You can tell by the way he saunters into a room, huge grin on his face, genuine excitement fueling his effusive greetings.  When you meet Simon you know.  Simon likes you.  He really, REALLY likes you.

For the past several months, we here at IZEA have been lucky enough to consult with Simon.  He picks our brain about social media, we pick his brain about growing our culture and interactions with each other in continually positive directions. So, when it came time to choose the next book for our company book club, choosing Simon’s The Vuja de Moment was a no-brainer.  Even better, Simon was able to join us in the office for lunch and discussion.

So, what is the vuja de moment? Vuja de is that flash of the future that hits you out of nowhere, it is seeing an old situation through fresh eyes, it is suddenly finding a solution to a problem that’s been plaguing you or a previously unnoticed path out of a bad situation.

As a book, The Vuja de Moment isn’t revolutionary.  It doesn’t come down upon you like an earth-shattering thud making you realize how far you have to go to reach your ultimate potential.  Instead, it is is a gentle reminder that everything  you need is already inside you and this information is presented by an author that is rooting for you to succeed.

Simon tells you that you are already brilliant, you just need to be able to see it, access it, trust it and believe it.  When you shift into brilliance, you are opening yourself up to the possibilities in the world around you. You recognize failures and rejections are going to happen in your life, but do not need to define you.  You realize the importance of being uncomfortable and the necessity to always keep learning, striving and growing.  You start to trust that little voice inside yourself and best of all, you figure out that YOU make your path, YOU create your own light and YOU ARE BRILLIANT!

As usual, this meeting prompted a lively discussion on how to apply the principles of vuja de to our work and our lives.  According to Account Manager Kristen Parody, “Vuja de is a great way to approach business and life in general. Simon’s motivating spirit flows through the book and makes you want to start your day brilliantly.”

Fulfillment and Support Associate Julius Conus agrees ” it teaches about growth not only from a business standpoint, but from a personal one as well.” Fulfillment manager David Ulrich adds that “I very much enjoyed the book and discussion. It was confirmation that I am already shifting thought process at work and at home.”
