Welcome to our Champion the Creators interview series with influencers of all niches to highlight their journeys, share their insights and inspire! Today we are talking all about influencing with Asia, a lifestyle and wellness influencer.
Meet Asia, a fashion and lifestyle influencer in Miami who shares her style and motivational content on Instagram. With a following of over 206K on Instagram, she shares a vibrant mix of fashion, wellness, fitness, and self-care. We recently had a conversation with Asia, delving into how she uses her marketing background in her content creation journey and her goals.
Asia, who is originally from Poland and relocated from LA to Miami recently, loves to incorporate relaxed vibes in her fashion content.
“All of my content is focused on some positivity, happiness, and I was always living in nice beachy areas.”
Besides fashion, her followers look to her for inspiration and vegan lifestyle tips.
“When I’m working with brands, I’m trying to more focus on positivity,” she said, adding that she is also vegan and looks at what brands are taking care of the planet.
She has shared her experience figuring out the best healthy eating habits for her.
“I’m really focused on healthy eating. I had a lot of issues with my belly and I had a really long journey figuring out what I can eat, and what I cannot, and I ended up building a community also around this.”
Asia’s more than 15 years of work with clients in marketing have helped her grow her social media presence. She has witnessed many changes on Instagram over the years and tested different strategies on her account to see what works.
“I was testing everything on myself. Creating videos, creating content with different times of posting and all of those strategies that I was telling clients to do, I was doing myself,” she said. “And then about a year ago, everything bloomed out of the space. So I grew from 3,000 followers to 100,000 in two weeks to three weeks. It was just crazy.”
Asia understands both the marketer and influencer side of the creator industry. Asia is also a former model, which gives her the flexibility to work on photoshoots when she is not creating content.
“I think my background is important because I know a lot about marketing, social media and how to work with brands and how to communicate professionally,” she said. “I know this side of the communication. So again, I also know the struggles on the side of the client.”
“Then I become an influencer,” she said. “I think still the business side of me is like, ‘I’m trying to help the brands to build their brand visibility.’ I have fun with that, so I’m just going with the flow.”
Asia’s advice for aspiring content creators is not just to post consistently but to think about the intended audience.
“I’m telling clients to focus not only on themselves and what they want to sell but focusing on what other people want to see,” she said. “So when you start thinking about what you are actually liking and commenting on Instagram or any social media, what is the thing that makes you leave anything — besides just watching the content? To give a comment?”
Asking this question helps creators make the best content to grow their communities.
“It’s not only you building the community for yourself, but you’re actually giving yourself to Instagram or to YouTube or any other social media so they can treat you as a content creator and they are deciding what exactly is going to work for them,” Asia said.
Besides that, remaining true to yourself is essential.
“Try to be yourself and be committed to what you’re doing,” she said, adding, “You just need to think if you are strong enough and if you have power enough to push yourself and believe in yourself enough to actually do what you’re thinking that you want to do.”
