Major online marketplace eBay is partnering with a Winter Park public tech firm, and the deal could be a big opportunity for bloggers.
Ted Murphy, CEO of Izea Inc. (OTCMKTS: IZEA), announced the partnership with eBay (Nasdaq: EBAY) Oct. 23 during his keynote speech at the opening of IzeaFest — a four-day festival that’s all about the business of programming, social media strategies and branding.
eBay will use Izea’s new social engagement feature SocialLinks, which will bridge the gap between fixed-fee sponsorships and performance-based incentives by allowing bloggers to search through select eBay listings to generate affiliate links quickly and easily. In addition, the partnership will allow Izea to connect with eBay’s millions of online retailers, service providers and other partner networks for similar opportunities in the future.
“With this integration, we’re able to connect with Izea creators and their social following in whole new way,” said John Toskey, director of global eBay partner network.
