IZEA is proud to announce the release of a new feature in SocialSpark that allows bloggers to quickly and easily raise money for charities called SocialSpark Causes. Causes allow bloggers to support non-profit organizations in two ways:
Join A Cause
Bloggers can add a non-profit to the list of Causes they support by clicking the join button on a individual Cause profile. By joining a Cause the blogger is able to easily donate the money they earn through SocialSpark Opportunities on a case by case basis.
Donate Direct
Each cause features a donate now button which allows bloggers and advertisers to donate money from their account balance at any time.
Open to All Non-Profits
The SocialSpark Causes program is designed to help non-profits leverage the power of the blogosphere to both spread the word and raise money. The program is free and available to all non-profit organizations with a 501(c)(3) designation. Causes can apply for creation of a profile and verification of their status by creating a SocialSpark profile and clicking the apply button. SocialSpark currently has 7 charities listed and hopes to reach 100 by the end of 2008.
