My internal clock is totally messed up. I never know what time it is. It doesn’t help that the days are so long here. We have eaten dinner at around 11pm every night. Yesterday we took the Eurorail from London to Paris and spent the afternoon walking around the city. We got to see the Eiffel Tower at around 9pm, you guys were right… the light show was amazing. There were thousands of people picnicking on the grass that lines the way to the tower. I have continued to take photos of everything we have eaten, I uploaded the latest to the PPP Flickr account. This was my favorite from yesterday… a chocolate crepe (the photo doesn’t do it justice).
Today we took a boat tour around the city. I highly recommend it if you ever visit, it is a great way to get the lay of the land before you start walking around the city looking for things. You are able to see everything from the Louvre to Notre Dame from the boat. We had lunch at a sidewalk cafe on the Av. des Champs – Elysees where I ordered this crazy ham and cheese sandwich with an egg on it:
We then walked over to the Arc de Triomphe and back to the hotel to rest our aching feet for a bit (check email and blog). Here are a few non-food related pics from the last few days:
As if we haven’t already had enough fun tonight is the annual Fete de la Musique (Music Festival). Apparently it is one of the biggest parties in Paris all year long , 2 million people pack the streets. The locals say the fun starts at 11pm… wish me luck 😉
