argus

I can’t believe that the unveiling of Argus is a mere 45 days away. We are burning the midnight oil every night chugging away on what will be a gigantic leap forward for PayPerPost. Thousands of man hours have gone into Argus already and the system is looking better and more exciting by the day. I have got to hand it to the Dev team, the commitment to the project has been outstanding.

As mentioned in some of my previous posts PPP Tools (or whatever they will be called in 45 days) will be play a pivotal role in the Argus release. We will be using these tools to provide advertisers with accurate page view and visitor information rather than having to rely of Google PR or Alexa Score. This will also be great for those international bloggers who have a large US readership as we will be able to report geographic readership information as well. Of course, you will have the option of whether or not you choose to make this information public or not in Argus.

We are ready to test our blog tracking on some of our Postie’s blogs. In order to participate you must have another stats package (such as site meter, google analytics, etc) installed that will allow you to report back your numbers through a simple data collection website we will point you to. We want to compare the numbers to make sure that the margin of error between packages is minimal and within acceptable limits. Every stats package works a little different so we expect some variance, but we don’t want you to see one thing in your stats package and a completely different thing through PPP Tools.

If you would like to participate in this program please send an email to argus (at) payperpost (dotcom) with your blog url and your username and we will provide you with the new code you need for the test. You won’t have to change out any code when we role it out system wide.

For those of you who aren’t attending PostieCon this is the only way to obtain an early adopter key. If you participate in this program now you will receive a key shortly after launch.
