Our team went to Content Marketing World 2024 in San Diego, where we connected with content marketers from top brands across diverse industries. Together, we explored how influencer marketing is transforming strategies and shaping the future of brand connections.
Our own AVP of Marketing, Matt Gray, hosted four sessions in the Social Media/Influencer Marketing track, which IZEA sponsored. These sessions offered a treasure trove of insights and sparked conversations on the most buzzed-about topics in digital marketing.

What we observed at Content Marketing World 2024
Key takeaways from the conference included:
Human connection is more important than ever
Authentic human connections remain central to successful marketing, even in a tech-driven world. For example, one session discussed user-generated content on search engine results pages, emphasizing that Google highly values individual perspectives over AI-generated content.
Adapting SEO to AI
Marketers are exploring how AI-driven search will impact SEO and influence strategies for content discovery. Sessions reinforced the importance of helpful content incorporating EEAT: Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness.
Growing interest in B2B influencer marketing
B2B brands in sectors like healthcare, insurance, and financial services are eager to understand how influencer marketing can elevate their strategies and amplify reach. We had many interesting chats with marketers in these fields about how they can work with creators and influencers.
Authenticity is powerful
Issa Rae’s keynote interview with Aisha Harris at Content Marketing World highlighted the power of authenticity in storytelling and brand building. Rae, who also played President Barbie in the “Barbie” film last year, emphasized that staying true to her voice and values has been the cornerstone of her success, from “Awkward Black Girl” to HBO’s “Insecure.” She shared how authenticity has become a magnet for loyalty and influence in an era where audiences crave realness. Brands can drive deeper connections and lasting impact by creating genuinely relatable stories that reflect their core identity.

From insights to networking, Content Marketing World offered us more inspiration and sparked new ideas and energy for the future of the Creator Economy.
