This Thursday night is an extremely important one for me. It is the first ever Karaoke 4 Cancer event. This was an effort started while I was still at MindComet and has taken some time to come to fruition. You all know that I love a good time and singing Karaoke to raise money for charity is right up my alley.

Since I left Tara and her team at MindComet have grabbed the bull by the horns and put everything together. She has been working with Brit and Jenni here to get both companies helping out with such an important cause. One of my new years resolutions was to do more for charity and I am happy this is all coming together.

When I first started MindComet in 1999 I hired a CFO who shortly after was diagnosed with colon cancer and passed away with 9 months. I watched the whole thing unfold, visiting him in his home with hospice and his wife and children at his side. It was the first time I had seen anything like this and it touched my soul in a way I can’t describe. Since that time I have hired people who have survived and beat cancer as well as people still battling cancer. I am astounded by how prevalent cancer is.

One of our own PPP team members lost a parent last week to cancer. I can’t image what they are going through, it is very sobering to think just how fragile life is. We will all be there on Thursday to show our support in their time of need and help create a brighter future for all those touched by cancer.

The event is being held at Latitudes (Located on the 3rd floor of Chillers). 33 West Church Street, Orlando FL, 32801. There is a $10 cover at the door which includes one drink. All proceeds will directly benefit the American Cancer Society. You can also make a donation through the MindComet website.
