We are rolling out a monster update to the site tonight at 21:00. I figure that’s the best time to do it since Europe is fast asleep and most of America will be curled up in front of the TV watching the season finale of Lost.
What’s in this release? Well, this is the release that includes, at long last, the Bandanbladderschpiddle. Woohoo!! I’ll blog more on that later.
There are a few fixes though that you might also be interested in. First, we have a new post reservation system that will get rid of the RLOD (the error message telling you all slots have been taken) once and for all. There’s also a new “Bans and Benches” feature – more on that in my update post later on.
Finally, we’ve decided to remove Technorati ranks from the system for now. Technorati have implemented a new design across their site and are moving away from their traditional ‘ranks’ system for blogs to an ‘authority’ number that we really don’t understand right now. So, for now, Technorati is gone. You’ll see the change after we roll out tonight at 9.
The site will be down for approximately 30 minutes while we also do a little database tidying.
