On several occasions we’ve talked about the importance of engaging with peers.  Things like tradeshows, conferences, and local events.  It’s almost essential to expanding one’s brand; it’s nearly impossible these days to grow without this face-to-face interaction. It’s also very easy to get complacent sitting behind a computer or laptop, but consider the opportunities meeting new and influential people can bring.

Tweetups (a gathering of Twitter users in the same geographical area) seem to be the hot thing right now, and are a great way of “stepping out,” particularly since they’re usually free and probably located very near you. We’ve had two Tweetups recently here in the Central Florida area, and tonight promises to be the biggest yet — nearly 100 are already confirmed via the Facebook Fan Page. Organized by one of last year’s IZEAFest speakers, Etan Horowitz, tonight’s Tweetup will bring many local bloggers and social media enthusiasts together.

If you’re in the Central Florida area and would like to meet-up with some local Twitter peeps then click here to let us know you’re coming tonight.  And for any Tweets make sure to use hashtag #otweet
