Glennis and I have been chatting recently about increasing our involvement in charity & philanthropic efforts. It’s important to us, not only collectively as an organization but also individually, to “give back.” Much of this began after a few specific instances last year (see posts “A Special Cause”, “It’s the third annual Blog Day!”, and “A Generous Gift”), to which many folks responded and participated in (both inside and outside our network).
Given the robust community we have–the many talented content creators, the passionate Posties, the giving advertisers–we have a tremendous opportunity to get involved in some projects that could make a difference in the lives of others. Details of a couple of projects will be revealed over the next couple of months, but in the meantime I’d love to get some input from some of you guys:
– Are you actively involved in charity efforts, and if so then which organizations?
– Do you use your blog to increase awareness about certain causes?
– Do you have a blog devoted specifically to charitable causes?
– How would you see utilizing IZEA to heighten others’ visibility of charitable efforts?
– What inspires you or motivates you to get involved in charity work?
Also, feel free to pass along any “out-of-the-box” ideas you might have about how we can partner-up with bloggers, Advertisers, and organizations in philanthropic efforts. You never know…we just might use them.
