We are officially closed today (though a few of us are here catching up) in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. I am too young to have experienced any of Dr. King’s speeches in person, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t find a ton of information about him on the Internet. You should check out his page on Wikipedia, look at his biography on the Nobel Prize site, or do a search on YouTube for a glimpse into our past. Dr. King was an incredible leader.

Here’s a quick fact I didn’t know:
At the age of thirty-five, Martin Luther King, Jr., was the youngest man to have received the Nobel Peace Prize. When Notified of his selection, he announced that he would turn over the prize money of $54,123 to the furtherance of the civil rights movement. (from the Nobel Prize site)
