As you probably already know version 4.0 of PayPerPost is now in Alpha testing. The new system is radically different from the existing PPP and is going to change the way our advertisers and bloggers connect. The existing version of PPP is largely a blind system. Advertisers put in some criteria, put out an opportunity and get posts back. There is no way for them to screen and select particular blogs in advance. That is about to change.

PayPerPost

In version 4.0 advertisers hand pick the blogs they want to make an offer to. They have the ability to see the URL, visit the blog and make a more informed decision. They also act as the reviewer and have the final call on whether a blogger gets paid (more on this in the future).

We will be accepting all types of blogs in the new version of PPP. There is no blog approval process, the platform is designed to be as open as possible. However, in order to complete an opportunity you will need to get picked by the advertiser and approved to be paid. Those are two big hurdles that depend very highly on the quality of the blog and the quality of the post.

What does this mean for bloggers? It means it is time to bring your A-Game. My simple advice:

  • Get your own domain
  • Create a true brand if you haven’t already
  • Consistently create quality content
  • Focus on spelling and grammar
  • Drop the in-post display ads
  • Drop any ads that talk about paid blogging (including our old ones)
  • Drop widgets that don’t provide value
