Maximizing your Dollars through Fun and Creativity

By October 2, 2007 3 Comments

Being part of our Sales Solutions Team, I’ve seen my share of opportunities that were unsuccessful.  Why you ask?  The answer is easy!  The requirements lacked CREATIVITY and FUN!

Though our Posties willingly write sponsored content, they don’t necessarily like writing an advertisement.  Furthermore, their readership doesn’t always like reading an advertisement.  Tell our Posties your ‘objective’ and let them use their creativity to achieve winning results.  Or you can even take it a step farther, think outside the box, and give them a FUN idea!  You’ll be surprised at what they come up with.  This is called the PULL marketing approach.  PPP believes in conversational marketing.  A different approach, with the same if not better results!  Who wants to be PUSHed into buying something?

So, essentially It’s not necessarily the high paying opportunities that get taken quick.  It’s the creative and fun ones that do.  A perfect example to this was USA Burn Notice’s Gadgets Galore video opportunity.  This was a 1 – 2 minute video that paid $50.00  a post.  Here’s the description:

Posties, are you the champ at spying?

Starting June 28th Michael Weston, a CIA Operative on USA Network’s new TV series, Burn Notice, will show us his skills.

Create a video showing your readers what special spying gadget you can create using household items and how Michael Weston would use it.

Simple (KISS), Creative, and Fun!  These opportunities were taken within 24 hours!  Imagine the results with the echo’s echo.  It’s all about making the most of your $$’s!  Think about it!

Many times I have opted for the lower-paid opp because it was something interesting that I wanted to write about, and something my readers would enjoy. I will usually take an opp based on what the subject matter is – money is great, but subject matter is very important.

You are so right on! I would much rather write about things that are interesting to me and my readers… I am not posting about whatever pays, that would make my blog loose credibility.. If it reaches my target audience I’ll post about it and creativity/ fun is super important.. I don’t want boring blog posts.. Even if they do get me paid!

The spy gadget opp was fun and I noticed that the views are still coming on mine. A tip with these video opps, consider responding to a video that the advertisers have put up themselves. There was a second surge of views on my video just after the TV show started airing episodes.
