May is Military Appreciation Month and this year the IZEACares team showed their appreciation by teaming up with the USO.

About the USO

The United Service Organization, or USO, was formed in 1941 by Franklin D Roosevelt to unite multiple service organizations before World War II. Since it’s induction 77 years ago, the USO has constantly adapted to serve the U.S. Military branches and their families during their time in uniform.

The USO operates near military bases in the United States as well as across the world. USO airport centers throughout the United States are open 24/7 and offer a place of comfort for traveling U.S. service members as well as their families.

IZEACares Contribution

Each quarter, IZEACares researches national or local non-profit organizations to support through volunteering or donating items in need. The USO stuck out to IZEA for a variety of reasons: The USO helps to maintain connections between service members with their loved ones at home, delivers care packages and other treats, organizes much needed fun and entertainment, and most importantly, provides resources for returning service members, veterans, and their families for the transitions that they face. IZEACares wanted to support an organization that helps to support the men and women who dedicate their lives to the safety of the United States, so we partnered with the local Orlando USO branch.

Donations were collected across all of the IZEA offices; this included non-perishable food items, supply contributions, and gift cards. In addition, IZEA got creative with handwritten cards, notes, and letters to send along. IZEACares was also able to tour the USO located in the Orlando International Airport. Their hospitality is why the organization is so highly regarded and has been in operation for so long.
