It is now the end of September, which brings the beginnings of Back to School season and Fall (unless you’re at Central Florida IZEA HQ where the weather is consistently summer!). While other parts of the country cool down and see the leaves start to change, #IZEACares got busy partnering with UCP of Central Florida to assist with their upcoming school year needs!

September is a crazy time for many of us – it can be a time of shopping, preparing and rushing around to get the kiddos ready for their new school year. It can also be a costly time for families.

It’s little things like markers, notepads, rulers and glue sticks that every family is responsible for purchasing that can add up quickly, especially with multiple kids in a household. Seeing an opportunity to help alleviate this expense, IZEA held a school supply drive in which every IZEAn from each office came together & donated to the cause!

We were able to pass along hundreds of school supply items to those that need it the most.

Additionally, we held a friendly competition of Coin Wars and raised some cash for UCP as well. A check, along with the school supplies, was presented to Asma Addarrat, Senior Director of Development and NaTasha Jones, Community Engagement Manager. Having the tools they need, the kids of UCP were ready to start the 2016/2017 school year!

Giving back is part of our culture here at IZEA. We look forward to more charitable work throughout the community in the coming months.
