Describe your blog in 140 characters or less…

Brooklyn Farm Girl is my life. From urban gardening on a roof, to recipes, to art, to cute photos of my cats, I want it to be personal.

What inspires you to blog?

I’ve had a blog practically since I got my first computer in the late 90’s. Ever since I had the Internet I had a blog in some capacity. I’ve always loved sharing stories and ideas online.

Do you ever get stumped for what to write? How do you overcome this?

I usually have the opposite idea, I have too much to write and too many posts to make! Lately I’ve been trying to blog about 3 times a week, that way each post has its time to shine. When I first started I had something new to say everyday but I think it was too overwhelming for readers. I found that 3 quality posts is better than 6 short posts that aren’t personal. With that said, I write down every post idea in my notebook. I have pages full of ideas, so I always feel a bit overwhelmed (yet excited) on what to choose next.

If you were President for a day what would be your first order of business?

Invite all cats to move into the White House. Also, world peace. And free brownies.

What do you love about IZEA?

I enjoy being a brand ambassador to products that I use every day.

What has been your favorite campaign?

I recently did a recipe post for Shady Brook Farms which was lots of fun. The recipe I created ended up being a Summertime dinner favorite in my house and will continue for years to come. We’ve been having those Cheesy Jalapeno Sausage Dogs at least once a week! If it was up to my husband we’d have them every night!

How do you actively stay engaged with your audience?

I am active on social media every day. I tweet, I tell weird stories about my cats, I share recipes from other bloggers, I post garden photos daily on Instagram. I always respond to readers of my blog in comments, emails or social media followups. As cheesy as it sounds, I consider my audience a bunch of friends so I like to keep a conversation going.

What tips can you give other bloggers that can help set them apart and stand out?

Write about what you love. If you really love what you do, people will take notice and see that. Also, be nice and support the blog community you’re a part of.

Complete this thought: If I could, I would…

Be in Disney World right now. I love that place.

Congratulations on being our Creator of the Month, Pamela! Be sure to check out all of the mouth-watering posts at Brooklyn Farm Girl.
