Social Media Sponsorship Pioneer Delivers Performance-based Pricing, Rewards Tweeter Engagement with Latest Release
SponsoredTweets.com, the industry’s largest marketplace for sponsored tweets, today announced the addition of cost-per-click (CPC) opportunities. The new feature further aligns advertisers, tweeters and followers by creating a system that rewards the relevance and engagement for each sponsored message.
“As the SponsoredTweets marketplace has grown, so too has the diversity and expectation of our customer base,” said Ted Murphy, CEO of SponsoredTweets parent company IZEA. “Social referrals are taking market share from sponsored search, and advertisers are looking for an easy, self-service system to purchase performance-based sponsored tweets – similar to how they buy CPC AdWords today. SponsoredTweets is that solution, allowing anyone to try twitter advertising with an engaging message and a small budget – only paying for tweets that deliver visitors.”
The release of SponsoredTweets CPC creates more opportunity for Tweeters as well. “I recognize that not all advertisers are comfortable with the cost-per-tweet (CPT) model,” said Loren Feldman (@1938media), an actor and video blogger with over 10,000 followers. “This new feature will create more opportunities for me to work with advertisers when I don’t have a direct sponsorship. I can choose the products and services I think will resonate with my audience and be compensated based on my performance.”
“I have really enjoyed being part of the SponsoredTweets.com team over the past few months. Having the opportunity to share great deals with my fans is a lot of fun,” said Jon Brockman (@MrJonBrockman), the Forward for the Sacramento Kings and SponsoredTweets.com celebrity with over 320,000 followers. “Playing in the NBA, I understand that it all comes down to performance. I am really excited about this new opportunity and look forward to working with more great advertisers in the coming months – everyone should be doing this!”
Security, Performance and Scale
All click traffic through the SponsoredTweets system is audited by a third party service, Click Forensics, a leader in click fraud prevention. Tweeters are compensated for all valid traffic they generate within a three-day period after the tweet goes live. SponsoredTweets scores each individual click and Tweeter, identifying unscrupulous publishers and removing them from the network.
“Redplum.com has found the existing SponsoredTweets system delivers incredible value,” said Brian Costello, General Manager of The RedPlum Network, the fastest growing online coupon network. “Tweeters love our coupons and we find that the sponsored messages are being shared through re-tweets. The addition of self-serve CPC allows us to set a monthly budget, target our ad based on keywords, and watch the tweets roll in for approval.”
“Just as cost-per-click pricing revolutionized sponsored search, CPC is positioned to do the same for the entire Twitter ecosystem via SponsoredTweets,” said Murphy. “We can offer opportunities to a greater range of Tweeters, allowing them to connect with advertisers whether they influence 10 people or 10,000.” Interested advertisers, tweeters and partners are encouraged try out CPC today at http://SponsoredTweets.com/.
