We are experiencing some unforeseen issues with Tuesday’s disclosure change deploy that are causing some final payouts to fail in SocialSpark. We are aware of the issue and are actively working to resolve it. In the meantime, you may receive rejection notices asking you to update your post’s disclosure badges or links and resubmit. You may disregard these for now. I will update this post when the issue has been resolved. As long as your posts still exist and contain all of the required elements, they will be paid. Thank you for your patience as we sort out this issue.

Update (11:28 AM): This problem has been resolved and we’ve re-run AutoReject and AutoPayout. If your post is still final rejected, please look at the last rejection notice you received and correct the issue(s) listed. This may require that you copy/paste the disclosure badge over the disclosure badge code you currently have in your post.

Thanks a lot for the update Jamie.

I've recopied the disclosure badge twice on this post: http://www.sahmsue.com/2009/10/sun-bird-asian-seasonings.html
And it still keeps rejecting it.

  3. Jamie said on 11.19.09 at 1:23 pm

@Sue: I see that you did replace the disclosure badge on your post once after we fixed the issue this morning. It will get picked up the next time AutoPayout runs, which should be this hour.

  4. Jamie said on 11.19.09 at 2:11 pm

@Sue: Just another update, your post has now been paid.

Wow, cool! Thanks for your help & your quick responses! :)

I have the same issue with this post:

    http://unsexy.net/2009/10/19/get-ahead-in-todays-job-market/

It wasn't paid due to disclosure badge being missing, however the badge was there. I copied over the disclosure badge code with the code provided in the assignment, but when I hit edit I was given this error:
This advertiser's account has been deactivated!
So I can't even resubmit the post.
    :(

  7. Jamie said on 11.19.09 at 4:31 pm

@Angela: Hi Angela, your post has now been paid.

My post has been rejected because it says I do not have the disclosure sentence in my post. I do have the disclosure sentence. I know the post is correct. Can you help?

    Thank you

I had the same problem as Angela did with this company.

I am not sure what is wrong with the blog but it did not pass nor will it let me resubmit. Please Help!

I'm relieved to hear this is an issue that will be resolved, just came over here to check and see if that was the case. I have two rejected posts. I did add the new badge, which looks different than the previous one, and resubmitted. But am relieved that your taking care of this...shouldn't be surprised that you're on top of it:-)

  12. Claudia said on 11.19.09 at 7:29 pm

On second thought, I see that you have corrected the problem, and I still have rejected posts, even though new badge was added. They are:

    http://workathomegrandmoms.com/halloween-trick-or-treat-interruptions/

    and

    http://www.happynutritionistsnuggets.com/2009/10/preparing-authentic-asian-meals-at-home.html

and this one that I just did this one that was auto-rejected with no explanation sent to me:

    http://www.herbulletin.com/2009/11/keeping-rodents-outdoors-where-they.html

So maybe there still are a few bugs in the system?

    Thanks for any help.

    Claudia:-)

  13. Jamie said on 11.20.09 at 7:44 am

@Julie Hubbard: The AutoReject script looks for the <em> tag, exactly as it is given to you on the post take page. Your post surrounds the disclosure message in a <i> tag instead, which is no longer the best-practice tag for XHTML. We provide the code to you exactly as it should appear on your blog, so it's best just to copy and paste that into your post HTML, leaving the disclosure phrase in its own paragraph.

  14. Jamie said on 11.20.09 at 7:52 am

@Chris: It looks like the post with that URL has been paid since you left your comment.

  15. Jamie said on 11.20.09 at 8:26 am

@Claudia: Whoops! Your disclosure badge still does not match what is given to you on the Post Edit page. You will need to click the "resubmit" button on the Final Rejected posts in your Taken Opportunities list and ensure that the disclosure badge code we give you matches what's in your posts before resubmitting. Your older posts should still have the old badges. Thank you!

  16. Claudia said on 11.20.09 at 9:28 am

    Hi Jamie,

I have added the disclosure badges at the end of the older posts again (there were only disclosures for the bottom part of the post):

    http://workathomegrandmoms.com/halloween-trick-or-treat-interruptions/

    http://www.happynutritionistsnuggets.com/2009/10/preparing-authentic-asian-meals-at-home.html

And for the following post, I have re-added disclosures top and bottom, and redid all the links required and suggested:

    http://www.herbulletin.com/2009/11/keeping-rodents-outdoors-where-they.html

Can you please verify that all is well now? I don't know what else to do. Thank you.

    Claudia

  17. Claudia said on 11.20.09 at 9:33 am

I just noticed your note about the older posts, I received rejection emails on those two a few days ago, and as suggested, updated the badges, and they looked like the newer ones, not the old any longer. I've been so careful to follow all instructions. Hope this can be resolved. Thank you.

    Claudia

  18. Jamie said on 11.20.09 at 9:50 am

@Claudia: Great job fixing those posts! They are both now paid.

  19. Claudia said on 11.20.09 at 12:17 pm

That's great, thanks for paying me for those 2!

Now if we can just figure out why it is auto-rejecting http://www.herbulletin.com/2009/11/keeping-rodents-outdoors-where-they.html

I have corrected it twice. There was an issue with the itk code on that blog, I see it has a red X, I sent a ticket on that a while back, could that be why it is auto-rejecting? I put the correct itk codes in some time ago. Thanks again for any help.

    Claudia:-)

  20. Jamie said on 11.20.09 at 2:36 pm

@Claudia: Aha! That sneaky registered trademark symbol was what did it. We were able to finagle some code to make special characters have no negative side effects in the disclosure message. Your post has now passed AutoReject.

  21. Nina said on 11.20.09 at 4:41 pm

I am still receiving rejections. This one said that I do not have the first disclosure, the sentence. My opp has no new disclosure badge or the sentence to copy. So I added my own.

    http://writerista.com/11/17/help-make-a-child%e2%80%99s-wish-come-true-through-twitter/

  22. Nina said on 11.20.09 at 4:45 pm

I would also like to add that this is really irritating. Old post that pass automated review should not have to go through false rejections :(

  23. Claudia said on 11.20.09 at 4:55 pm

Okay, one more post from me to say THANK YOU, we're all squared away now.

Have a great weekend, the Happy Thanksgiving to you and all the IZEA peeps:-) Thanks for all you do for us.

@Jamie: I found that blogger is changing the tag to I am trying to figure out how to fix the problem but so far no luck. My question now is will customer love review my post and possibly approve it anyway?

  25. Julie Hubbard said on 11.20.09 at 7:04 pm

@Jamie: I finally fixed it!I switched back to the old editor on blogger and it no longer changes my html tags. My post passed the auto review. Hopefully all will be well from now on. I really need to get my own domain and get away from blogger! Thanks for you help!

  26. Dani said on 11.20.09 at 7:42 pm

I've noticed that I received an initial rejection on a post (http://blog.little-miss.org/?p=10708) that was written before the new disclosure rules came into effect. The person who reviewed my post asked me to add the first disclosure sentence to the blog header, which I did and resubmitted.

Will any of the other posts that we've made that are either approved and pending payout, or the ones that we made and submitted before these new disclosures came into effect, be initial/final rejected for similar reasons?

  27. Dani said on 11.20.09 at 11:56 pm

All of my posts that were made before this disclosure change were approved by you guys! :) Thanks so much!

  28. dickster1961 said on 11.22.09 at 12:26 am

I have used all the disclosure code that is on my most recent opportunity and I keep getting rejected saying that the sentence is not there.

  29. Jamie said on 11.23.09 at 8:23 am

@Nina and @Dani: I apologize for the confusion. Reviewers should not be rejecting older posts (that were submitted before this change) for not having the disclosure message. Only posts submitted after the change are required to have the disclosure message. Our review team has been notified and your post is Approved.

@Julie Hubbard: Glad you got it figured out! :)

@dickster1961: Please see the response I gave to @Julie Hubbard above. Your disclosure message has been altered to use an <i> tag instead of the code that is provided. It looks like the "old" editor in Blogger doesn't change the tag like the new one, so you might try that to fix the problem.

  30. Jamie said on 11.23.09 at 9:40 am

FYI, the disclosure message now validates whether there's an <em> tag or an <i> tag. So if your post is currently auto-rejected for that reason, feel free to simply resubmit.

  31. corrin said on 11.23.09 at 1:02 pm

I'm still receiving a rejection for my post located at http://hotdoginthecity.com/susan-b-komen-donations-from-cryo-cell-international/. I've replaced all the links per the rejection email and it hasn't rectified the situation.

    Thanks,
    Corrin

  32. Jamie said on 11.23.09 at 3:56 pm

@corrin: Hey there! I took a look and noticed that Wordpress is changing your straight quotes to curly quotes. How helpful. We implemented a workaround for that kind of behavior and your post has now passed AutoReject.

  33. corrin said on 11.23.09 at 3:59 pm

    Thanks, Jamie!

  34. Sava said on 11.24.09 at 4:33 am

Just got a rejection notice as well. It said that I didn't have a required link. Re-copied the links, inserted into the post and resubmitted it to socialspark.
    Hope it clears out

  35. Ana said on 11.24.09 at 10:58 am

I still got the rejection although I did exactly what I was asked to do (copy paste the links again, etc). Help please?

  36. Karen said on 11.24.09 at 10:40 pm

I repasted the links and still got the rejection. Your help is appreciated. I will be away until Monday.

  37. Corry said on 11.26.09 at 10:07 am

It does not matter what I do or how often I repaste, the posts keep being rejected. I have all confidence in y'all solving the matter and approving them.

    Have a very happy Thanksgiving!

    God's Grace.

  38. Jamie said on 11.30.09 at 8:34 am

@Ana: All three of your most recent posts seem to have been removed so I cannot determine why they were auto-rejected.

@Karen: Your required link has a line break in it (in HTML, this is a <br> tag). You need to remove that line break in order to have your post pass auto-reject. The auto-rejection script checks that the anchor text matches the required link's anchor text exactly.

  39. connie said on 11.30.09 at 1:55 pm

Hello! I already copy/paste the sponsor badge but my post was still rejected. Why is that so?

  40. Jamie said on 11.30.09 at 2:13 pm

@connie: The required link in your post for iLasik has uppercase letters that shouldn't be uppercase. The anchor text is case sensitive. Please copy and paste the required link exactly as it is given to you on the take post page. Thanks!

  41. Jamie said on 11.30.09 at 2:56 pm

@Corry: I pushed your posts past Auto Reject. We are still working on fixing the reason they were rejected (your blog software is being helpful and auto-correcting some of the link HTML), but your existing posts are now in the review queue.

  42. Angela said on 12.1.09 at 12:55 pm

Hi, my post - http://unsexy.net/2009/11/01/dr-dermal-new-acne-treatment/ - was not able to be approved for payout. The reason was that I did not include a link that was *required* but at the time of the original posting, that link was not required. I know this because it passed the auto approval stage, it passed the manual approval stage and the advertiser even commented on what a good post it was. Now, instead of 5 required links there are 6. Why does stuff like that happen? I fixed it either way, but I just don't understand.

  43. connie said on 12.1.09 at 1:30 pm

well i still have the problem, i already change the uppercase letters with lower case letter. why is it my post was still rejected?

  44. Ana said on 12.8.09 at 2:07 pm

I posted recently about charter. Still it says that my post doesn't have the required links. I included all the required links already. Please help.

  45. Roxiticus Desperate Housewives said on 12.18.09 at 9:17 pm

The issues seem to be back... I just received a rejection pre-payout on PopStation contest... after dealing with (and fixing) the auto rejection almost a month ago, I'm now being told they won't pay my measly $7.50 because the code isn't there. I've repasted the code AGAIN... we'll see whether it works. What a waste of time.

  46. Jamie said on 12.21.09 at 10:00 am

@Roxiticus Desperate Housewives: I'm sorry for wasting your time. It looks like recopying the code did work and your post has been paid.

  47. Jamie said on 12.21.09 at 10:17 am

@Ana: Your blog appears to be doing some kind of redirect to a blank page. You should try removing individual widgets until you find the one that is causing this behavior.

On a side note, I see a couple of things in your site's code that have the potential to cause issues. First, you have the old ITK installed (http://tinyurl.com/2b5ojn). That script is deprecated; you should replace it with the newer one you can get by clicking the "get code" button next to your blog in SocialSpark. In addition, you're missing a curly close bracket at the end of your CSS in the document header. It's line 152 when I view source (you just need to add } to the end of it):

    #navbar-iframe {height:0px; visibility:hidden; display:none

In the future, it's best to leave a question at GetSatisfaction in order to have it answered in a timely manner -- this comment feed is not regularly monitored by our Customer Love team and we may not get to your question in time for your post to be corrected before permanent rejection.

  48. Jamie said on 12.21.09 at 10:41 am

@Ana: This behavior happened once before on another customer's blog, where the defunct code for PayingPost was causing a redirect to a blank page. Removing that code seemed to fix the problem.

  49. Julie Hubbard said on 1.4.10 at 6:54 pm

    Jamie,
I am still having issues with this problem. Basically it tells me I do not have the no follow link, but I do. I also can not get in to edit the earlier posts. This is the latest post to be rejected.
    http://juliannah-chocolate.blogspot.com/2010/01/tuna-good-for-moms-to-be.html
In fact all my posts for December were rejected. Will they still be payed out?

  50. Jamie said on 1.5.10 at 7:29 am

@Julie Hubbard: It looks like you were able to get your post resubmitted and past auto-reject. Good job! That post (with status "Pending passed ar") will be paid as long as there are no further issues during review. Unfortunately, rejected posts that have passed the five-day window for resubmission cannot be resubmitted, so any of your posts that have a status of "Permanent rejected" will not be paid.

Like I mentioned in a previous comment, please submit any further issues to our Get Satisfaction forum. It is an excellent tool for our Customer Love team to answer questions in a timely fashion and offers many necessary features that a comment thread on an older blog post just can't provide. I am closing comments on this thread to encourage anyone with further issues to direct their questions there.
