The thing that stuck with me the most is:
“Social Media isn’t a fad, it’s a fundamental shift in the way we communicate.”
Absolutely right. Of course this still only applies to the more-or-less web-literate part of the population.
But the reach and impact of social media is growing daily.
Best proof: the pathetic bitching of the pre$$titutes (AKA “professional journalists”, as this delusional breed still calls themselves) against blogs and social media.
Just had another funny article in “Spiegel online” (a formerly well-respected news magazine in Germany) that was bashing Social Media as meaningless and self-centred – and the bashing could not have been more desperate and pitiful. They know that they have lost the case – but still don’t admit it.
Yep, the way we communicate IS shifting, and that’s a good thing.
It is one of the ways of empowerment.
