I’ve not watched “South Park” in many years but apparently last night an episode aired centering around the characters and their Facebook escapades. Did you happen to catch it? Here’s a clip* (don’t worry…it’s kid-friendly!):
Mainstream media and entertainment shows constantly look to Twitter and Facebook for content, celebrities are now using social media as their primary PR outlets, and companies frequently use their social networking communities as their main call-to-action in Marketing campaigns. A major motion picture is even in the works, telling the story of Facebook and its Founder.
Is all of this a true testament to how social media is changing the face of our society? Has it invaded? What are your thoughts?
