    Cheeky Tweets

Since Ashley is at AdTech this week, I have hijacked Cheeky Tweets.  I do always contribute the gems I find online, but often feel as though some of the stuff I find that isn’t included is WAY funnier than the stuff Ash chooses from his own stream. And now it’s mine ALL MINE!!!! Mwahahaha…  What?  Oh, sorry, got carried away there for a moment.  Anyhoo… without further ado, here are this week’s Cheeky Tweets:

You know the feeling: Waiting up all night on that 30th day after post submission, the clock ticking loudly as you refresh your new messages. Will this be it? Did I get my SocialSpark post payment? Finally it comes and you’re over the $20 mark! You can almost hear the crowds going wild as you cross that finish line and click the big “Cash Out” button. Ahhh, satisfaction.

But the race is about to get a little longer. I know what you’re thinking; “I’ve gotten so good at these $20 sprints, how could I go any farther?” But I have faith in you and your persistence. You’ll make it to $50 and you’ll do it with class. And the payout will feel all the sweeter for it. (I hope.)

You had to know this day would come eventually, the day when the minimum cashout for bloggers in SocialSpark will match its IZEA brothers and sisters at the $50.00 mark. And that day arrives next week, on Tuesday. If you’re over the current $20 minimum I’d recommend getting one last cashout done before next Tuesday; after that, you’ll need to hold out until you’ve reached the new $50 threshold.

Why, you ask? Because we have to pay for each payout processed by PayPal. The higher the threshold, the fewer per-transaction fees we owe to PayPal. Everyone is cutting back these days, and this is one way we’re making sure we have the resources necessary to continue to be the most innovative disruptor in the social media sphere.

While this change will surely rock the boat, we have heard your feedback and are actively working on a better solution for our valued publishers. In fact, the developer sitting next to me has all kinds of documentation and code up on his screen as he works on just that! (Everybody say “Hi, Dray.”)

So what are you waiting for? Go cash out if you’re over the limit! And if you’re not, get blogging!!

We truly could not be successful at what we do without our awesome Posties and Advertisers. This month’s “RockStars” are certainly no exception!

    Advertiser of the Month

Congrats to PBM Products for being recognized as our “Advertiser of the Month” for October. You might recall a recent product sampling campaign for Parent’s Choice Infant Formula. Well, that’s PBM’s campaign! Our bloggers delivered some really great posts for PBM, based on the very concepts of their mission:

    • Providing families with safe, quality nutrition at sensible prices
    • Providing retail partners an opportunity to create identity and market differentiation through store brands at fair profit levels
    • Providing a balance of marketing and education to consumer and professional health care communities

If you are one of the blogger’s who took part in this campaign we’d love to hear what you thought about it. Just drop a comment in this post.

    Postie of the Month

Huge shout-out to this month’s Postie, Christine. Christine has been blogging with IZEA nearly since the beginning, and we’re definitely happy to have her as part of our Community. You can connect with Christine on SocialSpark by visiting her profile as well as her website. You can also follow her Tweets at @starryskye81. Here are a few fun tidbits of info about Christine:

    IZEA RockStar of the Month

Our “RockStar of the Month” for October is also IZEA’s “Earth Mother”: Erin Fox. She is a Solution Sales Manager and has kicked-butt in Sales over the past month. This coupled with the fact that she just delivered a baby makes her a mega-superstar. (She only had one baby - those featured here are not real!)

Erin has been responsible for securing campaigns for the Kissimmee Convention & Visitors Bureau, Cirque du Soleil, Yamaha, Bumble Bee Foods, and truTV. We also celebrated our monthly Loco by dressing up and awarding various costumes. It was most definitely a treat. If you’d like to check those out you can visit our Facebook Fan Page.

The Holidays are a Time for Giving

vwalk3As we head into the holiday season, what better way to give back than to give back to our planet?

IZEA has really been stepping up our green game lately (see this post). Everywhere you look people are turning off the lights behind them, recycling their paper and skipping the styrofoam. It warms our collective eco-heart. We still get the occasional garbage in the recycling bin and then everyone gets to witness our Office Manager, Jenni, get really, really aggravated. (Maybe someone’s just trying to mess with her now.) There is a sign over the recycling can that designates it as recycling only.

IZEANs are also skipping the car and biking or walking to work instead. Crystal, Eric, and Veronique are all reducing their environmental impact and hitting the pavement. So what else can we do to reduce our impacts in the office? We could skip the disposables and embrace the reusables, like plates and cutlery. We’ve also got a dishwasher, all we need to do is hit up a garage sale or thrift store and find a retro set for $2. We could also make a habit of unplugging our computer’s power cord when we leave to avoid vampire power or the occasional mac fire…those are neat.

    Anyone up for the challenge?

So what are you doing to make your office more eco-friendly? Maybe we can incorporate your ideas into the IZEA office life and be a few-green-steps-closer to hugging trees.
