We love our HOME!
Many countries around the world are celebrating Earth Day today. Here at IZEA Headquarters we do our best to be enviro-conscious every day. After all, every little bit counts, right?
…we recycle:

…we turn off lights when we’re not using them:

…and we [always] celebrate by eating:

For the remainder of 2009 here are a few goals we have as a company:
- Use washable plates and cups in our kitchen
- Buy biodegradable soaps to use in our kitchen
- No more styrofoam: re-use cups for coffee, water, and other drinks
So what do you do to celebrate or make a positive impact on Earth? And do you have any goals for the rest of 2009?

5 CommentsAwww…man, I just realized as I was publishing this post, I didn’t get any of the cupcakes. I bet they’re all gone by now.
Making a positive impact on the earth can be a little expensive and inconvenient, but ultimately it makes both the earth and YOU healthier.
Almost all of the food my husband and I cook is either locally or organically grown, and I don’t eat meat that hasn’t been organically produced. I try not to buy too many processed foods, but when I do, I try to buy products that are made of ingredients I can pronounce! Our household cleaners, soaps and detergents are also either certified green or homemade.
We also just started using Belkin Conserve power strips, so we don’t have big electronics sucking power when we’re not around. No word yet on the impact this will have on our electric bill…
My 2009 goal has been to start growing and eating more of my own food, and so far it’s going great! We’ve got strawberries, tomatoes, lettuce, peppers, and a ton of herbs to pick from when dinnertime rolls around.
Happy earth day!
Ohhhh, the cupcakes looked yummy! I’ve started using a metal water bottle rather than buying bottled – and I hugged every tree I saw today at Adtech

@Heather in Beautiful BC: I’m still really bummed I didn’t get to try one. And way-to-go on the water bottle!
