Do you sometimes find yourself in a blogging rut?

“Yes, yes, yes!” is something I’m sure you’re saying to yourself.

Call it a rut, writer’s block…whatever. It can happen to the best of the best, without a doubt: you get busy, burnt out, or just can’t find inspiration and the next thing you know is your blog hasn’t seen a post in weeks. And this probably happens more often to bloggers and social media content creators that cover a broad spectrum of information; niche bloggers likely don’t have these challenges as often.

I recently ran across a blog post from one of our Community members talking about this very topic, and started thinking about how common this issue probably is among bloggers, and am curious to know how bloggers get their motivation back after it’s been “gone” for some time? And as importantly how do you maintain a relationship with your readers? Have the left? Do they return?

So what do you do? How do you get back on the blogging bandwagon, and find inspiration to start generating content again? We want to hear some of your best practices and tips, and pass them on to our Community.

Sad to say, I often resort to memes and quizzes when I hit a rut. My blogging ruts result from RL ruts, because no one wants to read about my crappy job and my tiredness.

I wish I could vote more than one selection. I read/watch news, visit SU, read blogs, look through my photos and then get my brain going full steam. Some how it works. Some times I end up with a horrible post, but it's a process and in time, I'm back to my ole's blogging self :)

@Tina Kubala: At least you have some things that help "spark" your creativity when it's a little drained.

I actually just do a blog on a book I read or I flip through youtube videos and find some to post. If it gets really bad I run to the store and flip through magazines that would have info that deals with my site.
