Some folks have been contacting IZEA Headquarters inquiring about their 2009 earnings, specifically 1099 forms. Here’s a quick rundown, in the event any members of Community have questions: The 1099s are being sent to the processing company this week. We (IZEA) are filing an extension, just in case they don’t go out within the IRS mandated time period (by Jan. 31st). Given that, the forms should arrive at the 1099 processing company this week, which means they should be mailed out to consumers by the end of next week (obviously we have no control over matters at this point).
Are you asking yourself “Will I receive a 1099?” Well, if you’re a blogger/tweeter who earned $600 or more in any of our platforms (SocialSpark, PayPerPost, inPostLinks, Sponzai, or SponsoredTweets), during 2009 then you will receive a 1099 in the mail. Hope this helps! If we receive any important information relating to this we’ll be sure to update you here on the blog.
UPDATE: 3/3/10 @ 10:57am (EST): Our Finance team has been very diligent about staying on top of the processing company. Last bit of info we received from them is the 1099′s were printed on 2/25 (a little later than we’d expected) and mailed-out on 2/26.

What about if you earned a combined $600 from all programs, or does it have to be $600 froma single program. I am 99% sure I will be getting one.

@Dragon Blogger: It doesn't matter if the earnings are from across platforms. If you earned at least $600 by blogging or Tweeting with IZEA in any way, then you will receive one. :)

Beginning to get annoyed. Still no 1099 and not sure why it takes so long. This is the ONLY piece of information I'm waiting on to complete my tax return and it's the only piece of information that didn't arrive before 1/31. Seems this is an unfortunate bad habit for IZEA.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy posting for IZEA, but waiting for tax documents can be a bit frustrating.

No and my husband is getting warm under the collar. Is there another way to get this form? If others rec'd theirs over a week ago, I'm guessing mine isn't coming in "that batch". Needs to be reissued or accessible another way. Please????

At this point I would take a pdf emailed to me. I know this came be done, another pay to blog company had to do it for my wife last year to get it to her on time.

I don't mean to sound harsh, but I'm in a bad spot with my husband. I do love IZEA and don't have any bad feelings towards them. I'm just really frustrated.
I'm going to have to file without the form and hope we'll be ok. I was able to calculate my earnings through PayPal.
Please accept my apologies for sounding like a witch. I'm not typically so impatient.

@Ashley - I understand that IZEA hired someone to process this for them, but it still falls on IZEA as their problem. We worked for IZEA, not the company you paid to process the paperwork. Maybe next year IZEA will think about who they hire to do this. When next year comes around, and IZEA hires the same company, you won't be able to say "Given we’re not the ones who handle the processing there’s only so much we can do!" If other's are getting theirs I can only hope that ours come today.
@Wendy - I started the same process you did. We're going to give it till Monday though, hope they come.

It's nearly the middle of March, mail just came and it's still not here. I'm filing without it, but will still need it for my records. Please let me know. Thx in advance!

An update from the finance department that all the 1099's have been mailed ... if you have not received one, you either a) did not earn more than $600 with IZEA b) provided us with an incorrect SSN or c) provided us with an incorrect address. If you still have not received one, and think you should have you can contact me directly at david (at) izea (dot) com. PDF's ARE available for those who need them (provided all the relevant info was provided to IZEA and a 1099 was issued). There was a miscommunication between IZEA and our processing company which was the cause for the delay. My sincerest apologies to those inconvenienced by the delay.
